The 90's were a lawless time on the slopes. No helmets, just eyeball-searing neon and fully exposed brains. But today, skiing and riding without a helmet feels insane.
We feel the same way about skipping body protection.
Body armor might sound like something for pros only, but the majority of crashes happen on blue runs. And it only takes one tree, rock, or out of control Jerry to ruin your day or your season.
That's why we're developing the AgroPelt, the first snowsports-specific baselayer with built-in motocross level body armor. When the mountain hits back, don't get pelted. Get AgroPelt.
The AgroPelt features CE-1 impact protection from our partner D3O. It's the same stuff motorcycle and motocross athletes use.
Crash Tested by Motocross
Motocross riders are crazy, but they're not crazy enough to skip body protection. We use the exact same CE-1 level chest and back protectors in our shirts that motocross and motorcycle riders have been using for years. Because even when it's covered in snow, the mountain is still made of rock.

Made with super soft, moisture-wicking, four-way stretch fabric, the AgroPelt keeps you warm and comfortable from first chair to last. Plus, the protective inserts are removable so the shirt is easy to wash.

We're teaming up with some of our favorite artists to create custom designs that will keep you looking good on the mountain and at après. Staying safe should look cool and fun. Because season ending injuries are decidedly not cool or fun.

We all know how annoying it is to forget your goggles, or gaiter, or helmet, or mittens, or jacket, or boots, or poles, or skis, or snowboard, or pass. The last thing you need when you're getting ready for the mountain is another piece of gear. You wear a baselayer already, so the AgroPelt won't feel like an extra thing to put on (or forget).
Flexible, Lightweight Protection
Our base layers are designed with pockets that hold lightweight, flexible, breathable, low-profile CE-1 level chest and back protectors from our partner D3O. The material is surprisingly squishy, so you'll probably forget they're even there (until you fall, then you'll be very happy they are).

When will you launch?
A: We’re targeting shipping in late June/ early July. You’ll get early access to order before the public release.
What's the earlybird discount?
A: 25% off our first production run. Available to early access subscribers.
Are the back and chest protectors included?
A: Yes. Each shirt includes a CE-1 rated D3O back protector and chest protector.
What sizes will be available?
A: Currently men's/unisex S–XL. We're working on a women's fit also. Stay tuned.
What happens when I sign up?
A: You’ll get confirmation of early access, plus a heads up before ordering opens.
When will I get my order?

What's with the name AgroPelt? Where did it come from?
The name AgroPelt comes from the Agropelter, a legendary creep of the lumberjack world. It gives off serious “monkey with a meth problem” vibes, using its gross, whip-like arms to hurl branches, rocks, and general chaos at anyone nearby. It’s been known to juggle eyeballs, use bones as toothpicks, and is overall just kind of a dick.
Recently, the Agropelter discovered ski culture and found its favorite new victim: the unsuspecting skier and boarder. Now it hides rocks, roots, and logs in your lines, shoves bros into each other, builds random moguls on green runs, and loves striking just before that epic powder dump everyone brags about, leaving victims bloody, embarrassed, and FOMO-ing in the lodge for the rest of the trip.
The Agropelt is your best protection against this troublesome beast. With both chest and spine inserts, it offers impact protection for whatever the mountain, or the annoyingly elusive Agropelter, throws at you.
Inspired By Our Own Crashes
Hi, we're Katie and Ken, the founders of AgroPelt. We got the idea to create AgroPelt last season after Ken skied into a branch and almost punctured a lung. Katie was also hit by four different snowboarders that same season. Ouch.
Ken grew up mountain biking and also served in the Marine Corps, so he's no stranger to wearing body armor. We were surprised to learn that protective baselayers for snowsports don't really exist, so we decided to create our own.
The dog's name is Duck and he's a good boy even though he can't ski.
